Cancer Update from John Hopkins University

Saturday, October 23rd, 2010

I love my friend  Hilda because she is such an infinite source of wisdom.  She has sent me this information and  I would like to share it with you.

The truth is that your  animal friends  can’t  have a  good life without you   being healthy.

That  is  why this blog very much belongs on the holistic animal healing blog.  So many animals  lose their  humans    to cancer and here is  what you  can  do to prevent it.

With gratitude,

1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.

2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to  10 times in a person’s lifetime.

3. When the person’s immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.

4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, but also to environmental, food and lifestyle factors.

5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing the diet to eat more adequately and healthy, (4-5 times/day) and by including supplements, it will strengthen the immune system.

6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastrointestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.

7.Radiation, while destroying cancer cells,  but also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.

8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor destruction.

9. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications.

10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.

11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.

*CANCER CELLS FEED ON:

a. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc . These are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses, but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in color. A better alternative is Bragg’s aminos or sea salt.

b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soy milk, cancer cells are being starved.

c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little other meat, like chicken. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.

d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruit helps put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to

cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at

temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C)..

e. Avoid coffee and black tea which have high caffeine.  Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer fighting properties. Water, it is best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines becomes putrefied and leads to more toxic buildup.

13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the body’s killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.

14. Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Florescence, Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc.) to enable the body’s own killer cells to destroy cancer cells.. Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body’s

normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or unneeded cells.

15. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger, un-forgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.

16. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.

A Jack Russell doing house chores – So much fun!

Wednesday, October 20th, 2010

We  do not   have a  TV at home   because some time ago I  decided not  to watch  any  negative  news. If there is  something  important  going on in the world,  I seem to   learn  about  it  from others.

I simply do not like infusing my brain  with the negativity of morning news and prefer  to start my day on a good note.

I sometimes  spend 5 – 10 minutes waking up, reading my friends’  posts on Facebook which is a great  antidote to the  stale and entrenched negativity of TV news.

This morning,   I  found a YouTube video on my niece’s  site.  It shows a Jack Russell  that  was taught to do dozens  of  house  chores. What a dream! Our dogs doing our housework!  I hope that you will laugh as  loud and hard  as  I  did.  From making coffee to putting away laundry,  closing  cabinets and  undressing the owner,  this little dog  is  obviously  passionate about  his job.

What  is the message in this video?

Don’t  forget  to have fun with your dog,  put him or  her to work because dogs love it.

If passion is missing , you may think of  and plan a gradual shift towards something that rocks  your heart and warms your soul. I know it is not easy to change our habits but it is definitely worth it.  That is one of the secrets of health and  longevity for you and your animal friend.

Have  fun watching!

Have you every thought; what would your dog or cat want you to do if they could speak?

What would it be? Would you work 12 hour days or spend hours in traffic, watching TV or shopping for things that you don’t need?

I invite you to close your eyes and imagine  what would your next  hour, next day or month look  like. Where are you, what are you doing, who are you with? (more…)

What can you learn from the animals?

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

I came home after a challenging day and found the best treat in my e-mail. A video that I  received from my dear friend Milada. It is just another prove that animals are not only incredible, they are compassionate, empathetic and sensitive.  Lets learn from them as much as we can.  They truly are our best teachers.

A dog that helped me find my keys

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

One  day, on a beach run,  I realized  I  was  missing my  car  keys.  I knew that they  had fallen out of my  pocket.

I was standing on the beach thinking,  hmm,  I  am really  curious  to see how this  will turn out and started running  two miles  back to my  car.  The ocean  washed out any traces of my  footprints,  I was hopelessly  scanning  the waves  and  sand with no  keys in sight.

As I  was running , I thought,  I have to look for a message telling me where they are… and  a thought came to mind  ” They are close to the car.”  My  curiosity grew.  ”Tell  me  more, ” I asked the voice ” I  need more details.”  ”Just forget your keys  and don’t worry..” was the answer

I  got back to  the car and found the car door   unlocked   even though I  remembered that  I had  locked  it… The wallet  and my cell  phone  were still  in the glove  box.   At least this was  some  good news.  It looked like  someone opened the car with the key…    I asked  people around and looked with no luck.

Disappointed,   I  sat down on the beach and  watched a  group  of   teens  body surfing, playing like  a bunch  of  rowdy  dolphins in the waves.  I lost  my  keys,  I thought,   what  a drag…  I wondered  if the Universe would send me  another signal.

Suddenly, a heard a dog barking to my right. I  quickly  turned  following the bark  and there they were, about 10 meters away,  my keys hanging on a root of a tree.

I was amazed. A dog had helped me find my  keys!!!

What  is the moral of this story? If you keep your ears and eyes opens, the Universe will tell you what the next step is…

Inspiration and Courage

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

At times when I face the challenges of day to day life, I have created a habit of listening to someone wise, reading quotes or reviewing  my life’s vision and goals. Sometimes I watch an inspiring video.

If you feel like you need a boost of energy and inspiration, this one is for you .  Make sure that you have a box of Kleenex  ready by  your side…
